Via X Rodeo Rally

Join Via Bicycle Cafe and Rodeo Labs for an unforgettable ride through Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding Forest Service roads on June 17th.

When people visit Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park they often head straight for Old Fall River Road and Trail Ridge Roads, which are some of the most beautiful roads in America. But this time we tap into the local knowledge of Estes’ own Via Bicycle Cafe and add in some very seldom ridden local roads as well to create a more diverse (and fresh) route). We still hit Trail Ridge and Fall River though, so bring the climbing legs and sense of adventure. This is going to be a big day.

We will start at Via Bicycle Cafe in Estes Park, come early and grab some locally roasted Coffee, expertly brewed at the shop (opens at 7AM) prior to the 9AM departure.

With over 9,000 feet of climbing in 72 miles don’t forget the big cassette (11-32?) and tires (32c recommended minimum). 75% of the route is un-paved, and since the route double backs through town there is a good chance to grab extra food and water before entering RMNP and heading up Old Falls River Rd.

Old Falls tops out at over 12,000 feet, so bring some warm clothes in case wind, rain, thunder, or even a late snow hit. Also try to have a friend to ride with, and everything you need to be self sufficient! Due to the open invite on these rides we don’t provide support or SAG. We try to stick together as much as possible but smaller groups do form as people find their paces.

The park has an entrance fee of $10 per bicycle or find someone with an annual pass which includes admittance for up to 4 riders.

There is no other fee to do this ride. This ride is not a race. Please obey all traffic rules and be courteous to other road users. A waiver will be provided and required.
