Max rotor size front and rear/ image format for decals

Howdy!

1. 160mm is the max rotor size front and rear
2. Yes flat to post mount adapters work front and rear. (160mm)
3. We do not supply graphic or cut files for our bikes. We cut and apply decals here per the options on the product page.
4. For crank arm based non drive side power meters we know that Stages will not clear the chain stay at all. 4iiii do not fit in standard configuration but if you space the crank arm 1mm out it can be made to fit. That is a non standard installation so it isn’t something we do on our builds.
5. Half link chains are great because they allow smaller adjustment increments for setting the chain tension. You may use a standard chain if you like but it would take more attention to set up precisely the way you want.

Switching to a 1x?

Dylan,

You would need:

1. GRX 812 rear derailleur
2. 11-42 rear cassette.
3. If wanting to use the left shifter for a dropper lever you would need the GRX dropper lever. The shifter can’t be modified.
4. Depending on the crankset you have you may just need a 1x direct mount ring (Praxis) or perhaps a WolfTooth 1x ring for adapting the 2x GRX crankset to 1x (which we have not done here).

Cheers,

Rodeo

Ask for compatibility and info

Flaanimal uses a road crankset Q-Factor and there is nothing unique about the design that would make it incompatible with any standard road crankset 1x or 2x.

The Q-Factor is 100% compatible with Sram mullet builds and we have built quite a few of them. Just use Something like a Force AXS 1x crank or a Praxis Zayante 1x crank, or anything similar.

You need an INTERNAL bearing bottom bracket, and any T47 internal bearing BB will work. Match the bearing size with your spindle diameter (Dub, 30mm, M30, 24mm, etc)

Standover height

The 49cm Flaanimal 5.0 shows 74.7cm standover with 650b x 2.1 tires. With a 48mm tire you would probably drop to about 74cm. If you were to drop to the 48cm frame (4.1 not 5.0) you would go down to 72cm. This is all an estimate because we do not have any 48cm frames built up but it should be close.

Flaanimal with Hope RX4 160mm brakes

Philip. Hope calipers are 160mm only and are made specifically with one version each for front and rear. No mounting plates are used they are directly mounted to the frame / fork. If you use a mounting plate the brakes will not operate correctly.

Half & Half Payment

Howdy! We don’t have a deposit function available with our website software but if you shoot us a note through the contact form we can get that going for you.

We’re happy to do fit consultations via email as well. Shoot us key metrics like height and inseam and any other notes you have and we can get the conversation going.

Thanks!

Weight limit

Ian,
Both the steel and Ti frames are tested to the same standards so your concerns about steel being less up to the task than Ti isn’t necessary. Even at 200lbs + gear you won’t overwhelm the capabilities of either frame and we leave generous margin of error overhead in our weight ratings above and beyond the stated weight limit (250 rider / gear) so that not only ourselves but also the customer has peace of mind.

Thanks!
