We’re here in Lakewood, Colorado, making dream bikes and workhorses come true one at a time. It’s a beautiful place to be!

This summer hallucination finished up yesterday, its bright titanium finish accented by an assortment of purple loveliness sufficient to teleport any cyclist back to the ‘90s era of peak anodized bliss.

We’ve built a brand new bibshort, and you’re invited to the final phase of testing.

The Explorts 3.0 are an entirely new short in both construction and fabric, from the waist down.

The 2.0 and Expedition Explorts are already incredibly comfortable, and proven across continents and races worldwide, so we know that we’re asking the right questions when we develop our shorts. So, why give a new evolution a go?

Curiosity, that’s why. Could we work with more panels to improve fit? Could we create something with just a bit more compression, and perhaps a more race specific feel? Could we find softer, more premium Italian fabrics? Could we improve our grippers?

Short answer; yes. We thought we could, and we think we did.

So the answer now is: Will others agree? These shorts aren’t due until 2026, but we’ve done a small batch of production spec shorts to drop now, in the last warm days of summer. We’re hoping to get some feedback from you, our community, with an open mind towards any final tweaks that could be considered.

The 3.0 shorts will sit at a slightly higher price point than 2.0 because of the more expensive fabrics that we’ve used, but this beta batch is priced lower than the 2.0 shorts as a nod towards the collaboration that we hope to have with those of you who adopt them and put them to the test.

Hey! If you’re looking to keep the cost down on a Rodeo build, read up on this tip:

We have a batch of these deep / wide carbon gravel wheels that we purchased from the small British brand NexGen Sports. We handled shipping for them for a couple of years but they exited the USA market and we are helping to sell the inventory. On any of our builds that show alloy wheels we tend to use DT1800 pre build alloy wheelsets. This saves quite a lot over our Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels. But, if you like, you can request these NexGen V7 Carbon wheels instead of the DT1800 wheels for the exact same price. And that’s a heckin upgrade for zero monies extra. You could also specify these wheels on any other build spec to knock many hundreds off that cost.
