We are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Paint and Finishing Technician to join us on a part-time basis, with the potential to become a full-time position.

 

Location

This role is based at our headquarters in Lakewood, CO which sits in the larger Denver metro area.

Hours

20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project demands.

Role Overview

As a Paint and Finishing Technician, you will play a crucial role in the final stages of our bicycle production process. Your work will directly impact the visual appeal and quality of our products, ensuring that each bicycle meets our high standards and resonates with our customers.

 

You do not need to know how to paint professionally or paint bikes professionally in order to apply for this job. We are looking for a person with the qualities needed to paint bikes well, and we can train that person into a masterful bike painter.

 

Bike painting is very detail oriented, very focused work, with high consequences for inattention, sloppiness, or general lack of care. The person who applies must demonstrate an attitude of commitment and dedication that it takes to paint bicycles at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply paint and other finishes to bicycles with precision and care, ensuring a flawless final product.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and media blasting.
  • Manage material inventory and ensure colors are in stock for custom designs when a job is scheduled for application.
  • Operate and maintain painting and blasting equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly at all times.
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of the painted and finished products with the Director of Standards, making adjustments and touch-ups as necessary.
  • Work closely with the production team to manage and meet tight deadlines, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to paint and finish application and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team setting.

  • High sense of responsibility and personal integrity as it relates to work quality and throughput.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Experience with painting is not required for this position. We are looking for the above personality traits, painting technique is expected to be refined through a training process.


What We Offer

  • Compensation will be determined by experience. If we are training from scratch we will start at $19/hr, and there is the potential for increasing to $25/hr or even higher based on proficiency and efficiency.
