Rodeo Adventure Labs: Multi-Role Technician

We are searching for a new member of our team at Rodeo Labs HQ in the form of a critical role that integrates everything we offer in the form of Rodeo Labs products such as complete bikes, wheels, and accessories. This person will eventually become our lead multi-role technician, but not before being trained in our best practices and many of the different facets that combine to form the products and services that we offer.
Location
This role is based at our headquarters in Lakewood, CO which sits in the larger Denver metro area.
Hours
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. The position will begin with a one month trial period to make sure of a good fit.
Role Overview
We’re hiring multi role team member to contribute to our in-house workshop. This is more than a mechanic role— it’s about being involved in many points of the operational experience at Rodeo Labs. The person that we are looking for may not yet have all of the skills that are listed in the role responsibilities below, and that is okay. We’re looking for a person with a positive, problem solving mindset, and someone who is eager to learn a wide range of skills that go into giving our customers and patrons great experiences. Ultimately this role is intended to become a lead service course technician with mastery of many facets of the overall operation as needed. This role requires a dedication to detail in every facet of work. This role requires having or gaining familiarity with modern gravel, adventure, and road components and standards and a hunger to keep learning as the landscape is ever evolving.
Key Responsibilities
- Build high-end gravel and adventure bikes to exacting standards
- Execute custom wheel builds with precision, performance, and longevity in mind
- Learn inventory management systems that keep things organized and efficient. Suggest improvements with an eye towards implementation over time.
- Maintain a clean, focused, and professional service course environment
- Solve problems creatively—whether that means adapting a tricky build or engineering a cleaner solution
- Learn the customer service side of the Rodeo Labs process and be able to assist when needed.
- Learn the shipping process of Rodeo Labs and be able to assist when needed.
- Learn about the custom paint / process at Rodeo Labs so that decisions and workflow decisions can be made and adapted to the niche needs of the paint department workflow. (You will not need to learn how to paint bikes, but rather just gain awareness of the custom paint workflow and process)

- Rodeo roles are multi modal. When situations arise, it is expected that team members step up to fill other roles which could include interacting with customers, pitching in on shipping fulfillment, assisting with frameset finish and prep, and maintaining facilities in general.
Requirements
- A positive attitude and outlook. Creating and building custom bicycles is extremely technical, fickle, and challenging. Attitude and outlook are the difference between success and frustration.
- A systems-minded approach to inventory, with a knack for streamlining operations
- A collaborative mindset and outlook.
- A genuine appreciation for thoughtful design, adventure, and the work of your hands
- Passion for riding exploring the world by bike. Riding is in our DNA and informs the passion for how we design and build bikes.We primarily create gravel and multi surface adventure and endurance bikes. A passion for this genre is a must.
- A mindset for systems building and improvement is required. Custom built bikes are inherently complex and unique, and require a strong commitment to detail management, intentional communication, and non stop process refinement in collaboration with the entire Rodeo team.
What We Offer
- Compensation will be determined by experience. If we are training from scratch (i.e. is not an experienced wheel builder or mechanic) we will start at $20/hr. Dependent on proficiency and impact, the upper compensation band is $33.65/hr.
- Accrued PTO, increasing over time up to 15 days / year.
