Rodeo is looking to hire a new painter who will be tasked with continuing the reputation for creativity and excellence that we’ve established. That new painter might just be you.
Painting bicycles isn’t for everyone. In fact, we’ve found that the skills and mindset that are required to do this sort of work at a world class level are very rare. Because of this, we aren’t only searching for a person who will walk in the door on day one and instantly be at or above the technical level that we need for this role. Instead, we’re also on the lookout for a person who has the right mindset for the role, and who can be taught what is needed to gain mastery of this fickle craft.

For this role, a background in painting would be great, but once again is not an absolute necessity. That said, here are skills and duties that are important to have or learn as quickly as possible
- Familiarity with bicycles and how they work overall.
- Familiarity with bicycle assembly and disassembly.
- Familiarity with titanium anodizing process.
- Familiarity with paint workflows including spray guns, materials, spray booth, materials handling, and safety.
- Familiatiy with vinyl cutters and paint / graphic masking mediums.
- Familiarity with paint prep, including cleaning and media blasting.
- Familiarity with artwork prep and a graphics workflow.
- A strong design sensibility
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
- High degree of comfort working with one’s own hands. This is precise work!
- A mechanical mind for troubleshooting processes and equiment.
You do not have to be a cyclist to be considered for this role. but as a bike company driven and inspired by the act of riding bikes and adventuring, we do find that a passion for this sport and these machines is helpful for finding the motivation that is needed to excel in this role.


Position requirements:
- Legally allowed to work full time in the USA
- This is an on-site full time position, so you need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of Rodeo Labs HQ in Lakewood (Denver), Colorado.
- Consent to submit to a background check.
- Ability to start very soon – in first half of January ideally.
Compensation is as follows
- Hourly compensation rate will be based on existing skills on day 1. Hourly wage between $20 (training) – $30/hr (mastery). Wage reviews are typically yearly.
- 3 weeks total paid PTO accrual including 2 weeks full PTO and 1 week medical leave.
- Paid major holidays (or holiday periods) additional to accrued PTO.
- ICHRA (Individual Coverage HRA) healthcare contributions.
