With this microSHIFT Sword build kit, we worked hard to create a high performing, reliable build and the best price point that we could. microSHIFT Sword shifting has a cult following for performance and ergonomics. TRP Spyre are the workhorse brakes of the cable pull disc brake segment. Praxis cranks consistently best the major manufacturers for strength, weight, and value. DT Swiss Wheels come from one of the most respected wheel brands in the world. A Flaanimal 6 Ti build on this foundation will take you far and wide, and is a great starting point for a build spec to grow with over time.

GRX 820 is Shimano’s latest 1×12 gravel groupset, and when Shimano drops a new gravel groupset, you know it’s been obsessed over and refined to perfection over years of development. Combine that drivetrain with Rodeo 3.0X carbon wheels, Ritchey components, Praxis cranks, and a handmade Selle Repente Quasar saddle, and you have a build that goes the distance for road, gravel, and touring.

Available in a 2x chainring configuration, it offers the close gear shifts and wide gearing range that many riders appreciate, with the consistency that riders have come to expect from Shimano. As a higher spec drivetrain, we’ve also used high end Ritchey WCS components and our ultra lightweight 3.0X wheels for this build configuration.

SRAM came out with a genius groupset when they released the Eagle and XPLR compatible Apex shifters and drivetrain. For those not wanting electronic shifting, or not up for the cost of electronic, the Apex Mechanical drivetrain allows for all of the gear range and braking of the AXS groupsets, but with the simplicity and price break of mechanical. We worked hard on this build spec to reduce cost wherever possible while maintaining the highest standard of function, just the same as we would with our more expensive builds. This build can also be done with XPLR gear ratios by request.

Flaanimal 6 Titanium can be run in a native singlespeed configuration thanks to its sliding dropout system, and this TRP Hylex Singlespeed build is the build spec that we ourselves have ridden to victory in the singlespeed categories at all of the biggest gravel races in the United States. Hylex are some of the most beautiful levers in the business, with their drilled design and fantastic ergonomics. Braking performance is second to none. This build is inherently lighter weight due to the lack of cassette and derailleur, and is helped by the lightweight Rodeo 3.0X wheels, Repente Quasar 2.0 saddle, and Ritchey components.
