We recently did some work on our entry level pricing in order to try to tailor a build for riders who wanted a Rodeo Labs bike with great function, combined with a price that was more in-reach. While discussing that build spec with the community, some suggested that we also build with the Microshift Sword 1×10 groupset, which has a great reputation for function and reliability, but has nothing near the cost of more mainstream groupsets.

In the spirit of that discussion, we present to you our first ever Flaanimal x Microshift Sword build. We think it’s awesome. No matter what level build we do here at Rodeo, we make sure to only spec components that are durable and up to the task of solid off road riding, so the rest of the build on this bike is an excellent mix of Ritchey, Easton, Praxis, Repente, TRP, and other brands we know and trust.

On this first Sword build we had a bit of extra fun with paint, and we decided to test a graphic layout that we haven’t done before, reversing out the carbon head tube, seat tube, and fork on an accent color, as well as frame graphics, seatpost clamp, and the sliding dropouts. The result is a totally eye catching and unique Flaanimal – something that’s always in-line with the Rodeo DNA.

This first 54cm test bike is ready to roll now. It’s discounted a bit off retail pricing, making it one of the more affordable custom Rodeo Labs bikes we’ve ever shipped.

A 54cm bike will typically fit a rider 5’8″ to 5’10”
