Lab Woolie the sequel: Lambouflage

Lab Woolie the sequel: Lambouflage

12/13/2020 Lambouflage pre-orders have ended. We look forward to delivering all pre-orders mid January. Thanks you!

Possibly the most loved jersey we’ve ever created, the original 2019 Lamb Transport Jersey was a high water mark for whimsey and function at Rodeo Labs. The jersey sold out nearly instantly and despite the popularity we capped the production run at the end of the year with no idea how to follow it up. Cut to 2020 and the lambs are back, but this time with the help of the super talented artist, illustrator, and long time Rodeo supporter Brian Biggs.

We’re happy to present to you the 2020 Lambouflage jersey. Camouflage is dead, long live Lambouflage. Wearing this jersey on a fall day you may vanish into the orange tree canopy from a distance – like a ninja on a bike, but once the cold muted palette of winter sets in the jersey’s warm colors come to life, not to mention the dozens and dozens of lambs staring back at you from the void upon closer examination – each with its own personality.

Our jersey retains the same construction as our previous Woolie and Lamb Transport jerseys with their luxurious Italian Merino / synthetic fabric blend. The jerseys are warm, but not to warm that you can’t also wear them on a clear, slightly crisp sunny day throughout the year. This year we upgraded the YKK zippers to a more robust spec while retaining our reinforced rear pockets.

We have a certain number of jerseys in stock and ready to ship for the holidays for those of you who are quick to the trigger. We expect that this jersey will sell out similar to last year’s. Once sold out we will allow a backorder period until Friday December 11th at which point we will once again halt sales of the design forever. Backordered jerseys will take about a month to produce before shipping, so look for those to go out mid January.

If we are sold out of in-stock and you want to order one of these as a holiday gift you may want to grab the accompanying stickers and wrap them with a printed photo of the jersey so that your loved one has something to open. :)

Consult the sizing chart carefully. If you order the wrong size and need to exchange we will do our best to help but in the event that we don’t have your size to exchange we will offer to let you exchange from the second batch of jerseys or request a product refund. Only un-ridden jerseys in brand new condition can be exchanged or refunded. Our woolie jersey is unisex, but check back in 2021 for other jerseys as we expand our women’s specific sizing in collaboration with the Rodeo Adventure Posse women’s team.

We felt it proper to include the original inspiration for the original lamb transport jersey here, so that you can know just how Rodeo, Donkeys, and Lambs became a thing:

Each year in Italy, grazing animals are moved from high pastures down to the plains. Newborn lambs are unable to make this journey on their own. Instead, they ride in the pouches of a specially made saddle on the back of a donkey or a mule nanny. They are taken down at rest stops and returned to their mothers for a bite to eat and a bit of nuzzling.

Donkeys? Lambs? Transportation? 3 pockets? This could be the most Rodeo image we’ve ever seen.

We were inspired, we were amused, and we went to work straight away. The Rodeo Labs Donkey Transport Division jersey was born.

Be sure to consult the sizing chart before ordering. This generally fits true to size in a form fitting cut, not a baggier club cut.
