Traildonkey 3.0 features two top tube bolts that allow you to attach a number of different accessories to the frame. Chief among these is a top tube bag which is super handy for holding extra food, gear, camera, wallet, batteries, or anything else that you don’t have room for elsewhere. The Exile Top Tube Bag is the next in our series of collaborations with Exile Designs, a local bag maker based in our home city of Denver, Colorado. Matt of Exile first blew our minds with the incredible Fannie Packer bar bag / fanny pack that we first commissioned him to make in 2018. The first and second batches of those sold out immediately and have been next to impossible to keep in stock this year. We asked Matt to create this top tube bag with a profile and width that didn’t get in the way and one that didn’t feel overly bulky. We also asked for a pass through flap in the leading edge of the design allowing you to keep a headlight or GPS backup battery in the bag while running the wire out and up to the cockpit without clutter.
The Exile Top Tube bag uses 65mm bolt spacing and is supplied with extended bolts and nylon washers for stability. For the time being we’re only having these made in bolt on configuration but we will add a strap on configuration in a future batch. The bag is constructed with Cordura / rip stop fabrics that resist water and wear. The top zipper is water resistant and the bag will keep internal gear dry in all but the most inundated conditions.
