We’ve been working on designing and manufacturing Traildonkey 2.0 for almost two years. Over that time we’ve gotten many many emails inquiring about the bike. We are excited to finally publish this page with questions about the project. If you don’t see your question answered here please feel free to send us a note. We will add additional responses and information here as time goes on.

TRAILDONKEY 2.0 FAQS:

Question: What size Traildonkeys will be offered?

Answer: Initially 52cm, 54cm, 56cm, and 58cm will be offered. If demand is strong we will consider adding 50cm and 60cm frames to the mix but we are a new company and we are cautious about costs, so we first need to launch with a very carefully considered range of frame sizes. The good news is that the frame is pretty adaptable because of the sloping top tube, so smaller riders or larger riders may be able to achieve a fit with proper stem and seat post height and selection.

Question: Will you sell direct or through shops?

Answer: We will do both. Initially we will sell directly to customers, but we will seek to build out dealer relationships as we grow. Local dealers are an excellent way to make the right purchasing decisions when selecting a bike and how it is built up. Dealers will also help us make demos possible and trying before you buy is a great way to make sure that the bike is the best fit for you. As we add dealers we will list them so that people are able to find them easily. If you are an interested dealer feel free to reach out and as we finalize our retail strategy we can discuss relationships.

Question: Will you ship globally?

Answer: Yes we will. Shipping and duties will be the responsibility of each buyer.

Question: Where are your frames made?

Answer: Our manufacturing is done in Taiwan. Every Traildonkey and Rodeo Spork is made and finished completely from scratch, by hand.

Question: Why don’t you manufacture in the USA?

Answer: We want Traildonkey to be approachable to as many riders as possible and manufacturing in the USA would double the cost of just the frame and fork. We are very excited in the relationships that we have built in Taiwan and we have had an 18 month relationship with them planning, designing, and developing this bike from scratch.
